San Felice’s Chianti Classico earns great praise ... The 2020 is as good as we’ve seen from them

America loves Chianti, undoubtedly because of our love of Italian food.  Racy red berry fruits, floral notes accented by subtle spice; inlaid to a desirable tension of tannin and acid.  It all works so beautifully with red sauces, carbs & parmesan!  And while this region is consistently sought after, it’s the smaller Chianti Classico district that paved the way.  The heart of the region, Chianti Classico is where the movement was born and the best vineyards sit.  Today’s wine is a longtime favorite from a new vintage. 

San Felice is an estate as old as the region itself.  With over 300 acres under vine, the Morganti Family has long championed the Sangiovese varietal.  Even when many in the region were turning towards international styles, San Felice never wavered from their commitment to traditional varietals.  Nestled into the hills of Castelnuova Berardegna, in the heart of Chianti Classico … to say San Felice is a stalwart of the region might be putting it lightly.
